Ana M. Rodríguez-Rodríguez

Ana M. Rodríguez-Rodríguez specializes in 16th-and 17th-century Spanish literature and culture, and has published articles and given presentations at various conferences on Don Quixote. She has taught courses on Don Quixote at the U of Iowa both at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has also been a member of the PrinQeps 1605 research group, based at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a scholarly endeavor that locates and analyzes first editions of Don Quixote.

Denise K. Filios

Denise K. Filios specializes in the literature and culture of medieval Iberia. She has published various articles on medieval and modern versions of the Griselda legend in Europe and North Africa and on stories about the Muslim conquest of Iberia in Hispano-Latin and Arabic historiography. As the former coordinator of the Middle East and Muslim World Studies group, she has experience collaborating with various units within the University of Iowa and organizing scholarly and outreach events. In collaboration with Linda Kroon of the Women’s Resource and Action Center, she organized “Daughters of Shahrazade Face to Face: Cultural Encounters through the Arts of Middle Eastern Women,” funded by the Year of the Arts and Humanities, in 2005.
