Obermann Humanities Symposium

One of the Obermann Center‘s longest running programs, the purpose of the Obermann Humanities Symposium is to explore an important humanities topic that highlights University of Iowa scholars and scholarship. Symposiums are often interdisciplinary but sometimes have involved the efforts of scholars from a single department. They may be structured around any format that produces a lively exchange of ideas and include presentations by visiting participants, as well as by UI faculty and research staff. In recent years, Obermann Humanities Symposiums have been increasingly public, with many or all events open to the campus and greater community.
