—Old Capitol Museum (University of Iowa Pentacrest, Iowa City)

The Pull of Horses on National and Local Histories and Identities
—Curated by Kim Marra, Departments of Theatre Arts and American Studies, and Mark Anderson of the Digital Scholarship & Publishing Studio, University of Iowa Libraries
—University of Iowa Library Gallery (125 W. Washington St., Iowa City)
This exhibition screens the original documentary film The Pull of Horses in Urban American Performance, 1860-1920 at life-sized scale amid displays of local equine history. The exhibition offers glimpses of Iowa City town and campus life, as well as national equestrian culture—especially as many women took up riding and advocated for suffrage.

—Stanley Visual Classroom (3rd floor, Iowa Memorial Union, 125 N Madison St, Iowa City)
The Stanley Visual Classroom serves as the temporary exhibition space for the UI Stanley Museum of Art, which is under construction and will open in 2022. Follow Her Lead presents art from Africa and the African diaspora to explore womanhood and leadership across time and cultures. Fluidity examines how artists capture our complex relationship with water. 20/20 engages the science of seeing. In addition to these curated exhibitions, we present over seventy examples of Yoruba twin figures from the J. Richard Simon Collection in visual storage.
